Grade One

Silly Dog

I love my friend's dog Lily

'cause she's so cute and silly

With a wag of her tail

She collects all the mail

Then gives us all a wet willy

Grade Two

Spring is Here at Last

Spring is here:  The best time of the year!

The flowers are here.

The snow is gone.

Everybody thinks spring is fun.

Everything is growing!

Tadpoles, baby birds, baby turtles, fish, everything!

So come along and play.

It will be fun on a hot summer day.

Everything is out to play, even bunnies.

So grab a friend or two, play outside with me!

I promise it will be fun!

Even when we have a fight.

We will pick our favorite flower, and catch animals, and lay down in the meadow.

And when it gets dark, we will have a sleepover.

And if we don't go to bed early, we will have some spring Smore Marshmellows.

So enjoy spring!

It's the best time of the year!

Remember, spring is here!

Rainfall

The rain falls.

Down the walls.

I cried so hard.

It is going in the yard.

I want it to stop.

It goes plop.

Rainfall.

Grade Three

Miss Lee

Neat, sweet, loving kind

She likes to know what's on your mind

Good at sharing, ever caring

Very nice and sometimes daring

She's the kind of teacher I'd want to be

My good teacher, Miss Lee!

Grade Four

Pretty Little Butterfly

Pretty little butterfly

Flying joyfully in the sky

I know we only have just met

But it is time I catch you with my net

I stand up on my tippy toes

As you land upon a rose

I hold on to my net real tight

And swing and swing with all my might

I caught that pretty little butterfly

I know just what to do

I let it go and say goodbye

So another person can catch it too

Grade Five

A Meatball Tragic

Once upon a time

Before the very first lime,

I was at the mall

It was during Fall

There was a tragic

With no magic

I had a meatball

At the mall

I flung it with a spoon

On Earth's moon

My meatball

Splattered on the wall

It almost rolled of my spaghetti

When I wanted macaroni

There was cheese

On my knees

My poor meatball

Splattered on the wall

It was kind of red

And it was about to shed

That poor meatball

Hit the wall

I tried to break the fall

Tomato sauce ran down my chin

I think I was in a bin

It's the disaster of my meatball

Because it splattered on the wall

A hundred years later, it's still on the wall

And that's the tragic story of my poor meatball

The Ocean

My favorite place to be is the ocean.

I love the ways the waves look in motion.

Deep down in the ocean there are many things to see,

Such as graceful fish and jellyfish you should leave be.

Lots of boats sailing by the shore,

While stingrays swim on the ocean floor

While dolphins jump really high

Turtles swim happily by

Lots of bright colorful corals to see,

If you snorkel, you will be carefree.

On the shore palm trees lay,

While seagulls stalk their prey.

I love the way the sands feels between your toes,

And the way the deep blue water flows.

I look out and see whales,

As they flap their tails.

As I saw the beautiful sunset,

It was something I hope I will never forget.

As the day began to fade away,

I wish I could do this every day.
